In 1987, John started tinkering with a Commodore 64 system. Soon thereafter, his mother-in-law bought him his first IBM compatible system. Within weeks co-workers, friends and relatives were asking John's advice on their own PC. From time to time people would hand him $20 as a "thank you" for his work. This hobby became a business within one year, and so Computer Solutions was born.

After 3 years of struggling, John decided to close that company in favor of working for a computer repair company as a technician. Two years later customers, a change in the PC world along with his artistic abilities and love for art convinced John to re-open his own company.

ComputerJohn.com opened in April 2000, Kathy also left her job to help in this endeavor. Since then we have expanded our services, eliminated our computer work in lieu of Web Design, Website Hosting, Graphic Design and Advertising Media. The response has been overwhelming.

The end of 2001 brought another huge change for our company. Remote Backup Services seemed slightly ahead of it's time, even though it had been around for many years. We found some friends in a company that sold a specific software that backed up data via an Internet connection. Several months later we expanded our services to include this interesting and very much needed service.

2006 started with a bang at our company. After opening satellite offices in San Clemente, California; Costa Mesa, Fullerton California and Dayton, Nevada - we closed our main Brea offices and moved them to Boise, Idaho. With three times the space and a lot that is 10 times larger we have streamlined our expenses, changed our environment and found ourselves in a living Christmas Card.
